Hi I want to buy a Terratec EWS 64 xl does anyone know if there must be a spezial motherboard or is there an general error with the via chipset except IRQ 9 Problem,
and the Isa Requirement, i want to buy a AMD 800 with an good board what board should i prefer for the Card ???

ive had huge problems with the ews64xl and motherboards.
after trying out A-Bit, and AMD's - i found one which provides a stable environment with a pentium3 -- the Gigabyte motherboard.

EWS64XL runs flawlessly in my AbitKT7Raid motherboard. And with my AMD TBird 900@1000 Mhz, 256Mb PC133 SDRAM and IBM GX75 30 Gb ATA100 hard drive...it flies !!

zappuco: You have overclocked tbird900 to 1000? I have exactly the same hardware as you (K7Raid, tbird 900, ews64). How the hell did you do that? Is it stable?

A-Open mainboards that still have ISA slots on it (like AX6BC) also perform well with EWS64 cards.
